Huntsville is often referred to as the centre of Muskoka based upon its geographical location within the District of Muskoka. Huntsville's "swing" bridge crosses the North Muskoka River. To the west one finds Lake Vernon and Fairy Lake lies to the east.

Huntsville is also the home of the Delta Grandview, Deerhurst, Hidden Valley, all of which are resorts with their own independent offerings from golf courses, tennis courts, indoor recreational facilities, ski hills and boating.
